APC Tennis Club: A Legacy of Red Clay court Tennis in Kearny, NJ
Since 1909, Arlington Players Club (APC Tennis Club) has been a hub for red clay tennis in Kearny, NJ. Originally founded as a theater club, it later transformed into one of the oldest active red clay tennis clubs in the U.S.
Today, APC offers seven meticulously maintained red clay courts, providing a European-style playing experience perfect for both competitive and social tennis. More than just a private tennis club, APC is a welcoming community where players of all levels enjoy unlimited court access, results-driven coaching, and year-round social events.
APC proudly hosts the prestigious New Jersey National Red Clay Championship, a USTA-sanctioned event, that draws top players from New Jersey and beyond. The club also runs a highly regarded summer junior tennis program, offering players ages 4–20 professional coaching in a supportive and enriching environment. Over the past year, we have made several improvements to our facilities, including enhanced court maintenance to ensure the highest-quality playing conditions, upgraded clubhouse amenities, and expanded programming for players of all skill levels. We also hosted a highly successful New Jersey National Red Clay Championship, attracting top talent from across the region and reinforcing our club’s reputation as a premier destination for competitive tennis.
In addition to our thriving adult leagues and social events, our Junior Tennis Program continues to grow, introducing the next generation of players to the game in a fun and supportive environment.
